February fundraisers

Fun Fundraisers for February

Oh January. If Monday was a month. But the end is in sight for what is thought to be the bleakest month of the year, so we thought we would look ahead to the month of love and see if we could think up some fun fundraisers to boost everyone’s mood as well as your fundraising pot!

Our Top 5 Fundraisers for February

If you’re a charitable organisation and looking for some fundraisers to boost your donations, then look no further! Here are some fundraisers that are easy to encourage your supporters to take part in.

They also easily lend themselves to online donations – Do you have the digital infrastructure in place to take mobile and online donations? If the answer is no, then we can help! Keep reading for more information.

  • Something to raise your heart rate

We can’t talk about February fundraisers and not mention hearts in some way! Rather than the lovey-dovey kind, let’s get those hearts pumping with some sponsored exercise! Whether it’s a sponsored walk, run, swim or cycle you can encourage your supporters to set themselves a challenge and raise money whilst they’re doing it! Many people have set themselves a new years resolution to do more exercise and get outside more, so why not team this with a fundraiser too!

  • Random acts of kindness

This is a great way to get the whole family involved, and teach young children how valuable it is to help other people and be kind. Encourage supporters to keep a track of all the random acts of kindness they do during the month, asking friends and family to support their efforts with donations! From picking up an elderly neighbours shopping, to buying the person behind you in the queue a coffee. There are so many small, simple acts of kindness you can do to show love to others this February.

  • Care for your community

Valentine’s Day doesn’t just have to be for the one you love! Why not show your community how much you care for it? If your charitable organisation works locally then this is a great opportunity to help those in your community, whilst raising awareness of your cause and raising much needed funds. You could organise a sponsored litter-pick of local parks, host a car boot or bake sale with proceeds going towards your cause or even arrange a Valentine’s post box in your local village where people can donate to send a card to a loved one!

  • Coffee and cake morning

Coffee Mornings, both in person and virtual, are super popular fundraisers. Why not design a fundraising pack to sell to your supporters to use – Perhaps with recipes, decorations and ideas for a creative coffee morning from the comfort of their own home! It’s the perfect ‘palentines’ event for those who don’t engage with Valentine’s Day, encouraging catch-ups, camaraderie and comfort amongst friends. Encourage you supporters to get together with friends and family over a cuppa and a slice of cake – In person or via Zoom.

  • Pancake Competition

Okay, so we know Pancake Day is actually the 1st of March, but there’s no reason why you can’t start preparing a fundraiser for it now! You could host a competition for the best pancake flavours, or highest number of flips! Encourage your supporters to share and vote for their favourites on your social media channels to increase exposure and awareness to a wider audience

Can We Help You Raise Money Digitally?

Here at Donater we have a suite of fundraising tools specifically designed to make giving easier. Easier for the donor to make a donation, and easier for charitable organisations to receive that all-important fundraising.

Our suite of online fundraising tools include:

A dedicated online fundraising page, personalised to your charity or good cause. Supporters will immediately recognise your branding and thus, trust that they are in the right place to make a donation. Online fundraising pages are easy to share online via a handy link, and can be easily linked to your website with a ‘Donate Now’ button.

QR codes. We’ve all become more accustomed to QR codes with the NHS Covid app, so you’ll know how quick and easy it is to scan one with your smartphone. QR codes can be just as handy for taking donations. All your supporter has to do is scan the QR code with their smartphone, and it will take them to an online donation page. Once there, they can choose to donate with a tap via Google Pay or Apple Pay, or pay with their bank details. QR codes are a great addition to any physical marketing about your event, such as posters or newsletters as well as transforming a traditional donation box into a mobile way of taking digital donations.

NFC Tags. Our NFC tags take the above QR code concept a step further, and enable any supporter of yours with an NFC enabled smartphone to merely tap the tag or sticker. They will then be taken to an online donation page where they can make their donation quickly and simply. These work better with in-person events, but could easily be placed at the entrance to your charity or on collection boxes so visitors can donate to your cause if they wish.
