Wimbledon Themed Fundraising Ideas

This week sees the start of our favourite lawn tennis tournament – Wimbledon! Ace your fundraising efforts with some tennis themed fundraisers to get those donations in.

Here are some of our favourite Wimbledon themed fundraising ideas that any charitable cause could use to smash their fundraising targets.

Wimbledon Themed Fundraisers

Tennis Quiz Night

Test your tennis trivia with a night of quizzing! Money can be raised through ticket sales, refreshments and maybe even some tennis memorabilia! See if you can get your hands on some amazing tennis related prizes to entice lots of people to come and join in the fun.

Dress Up Day in Wimbledon Whites

Whether it’s a business or school, encourage supporters to host an ‘own clothes’ day where children and adults alike can dress up in tennis attire in exchange for a small donation to your worthy cause.

Movie Night

There are a surprising number of films about tennis! You can find a selection below. Choose a favourite and host a movie night in a school or community hall. Charge a little fee to attend, plus some snacks, treats and drinks for sale to enjoy with the move.

  • Wimbledon (obviously!)
  • Match Point
  • Challengers
  • Battle of the Sexes
  • King Richard
  • Borg vs McEnroe

Wimbledon Sweepstake

Sweepstakes are an easy way to get people involved – In both the sporting tournament and your good cause! People can make a donation in exchange for securing a name of one of the tennis players. The money entered can be split between your worthy cause and the winning player!

Friendly Tennis Tournament

Calling all wannabe Andy Murrays and Emma Raducanus! If your supporters think they’ve got what it takes, then host your own friendly tennis tournament. Charge a small fee to join in the fun as a player, another small fee for the spectators and make a day of it!

Afternoon Tea – Wimbledon Style with Strawberries and Cream

Afternoon Tea always goes down a treat! And who could resist a Wimbledon themed Afternoon Tea complete with strawberries and cream? This would be great for school PTA’s to host as well as any community based charitable organisations and good causes.

Final Watch Party

Will we have a Brit in the final of the men’s or ladies singles or doubles this year? Who knows! But whether we do or we don’t, the final is always a great match and on a sunny day, we can’t think of anything better than watching it in the sunshine! Why not host a Final Watch Party, outdoors with a big screen? Charge for entry and refreshments and you’re bound to raise more than love.

Fundraise Digitally with Donater

It’ll be Game, Set, Match with these Wimbledon themed fundraising ideas! Will you be using the tennis to boost your fundraising efforts? We’d love to see your ideas too! You can tag us on Instagram or Facebook

Here at Donater we have a suite of fundraising tools specifically designed to make giving easier. Easier for the donor to make a donation, and easier for charitable organisations to receive that all-important fundraising.

Our suite of online fundraising tools include:

A dedicated online fundraising page, personalised to your charity or good cause. Supporters will immediately recognise your branding and thus, trust that they are in the right place to make a donation. Online fundraising pages are easy to share online via a handy link, and can be easily linked to your website with a ‘Donate Now’ button.

QR codes. We’ve all become more accustomed to QR codes over the last couple of years, so you’ll know how quick and easy it is to scan one with your smartphone. QR codes can be just as handy for taking donations. All your supporter has to do is scan the QR code with their smartphone, and it will take them to an online donation page. Once there, they can choose to donate with a tap via Google Pay or Apple Pay, or pay with their bank details. QR codes are a great addition to any physical marketing about your event, such as posters or newsletters as well as transforming a traditional donation box into a mobile way of taking digital donations.

NFC Tags. Our NFC tags take the above QR code concept a step further, and enable any supporter of yours with an NFC enabled smartphone to merely tap the tag or sticker. They will then be taken to an online donation page where they can make their donation quickly and simply. These work better with in-person events, but could easily be placed at the entrance to your charity or on collection boxes so visitors can donate to your cause if they wish.
