Donater are pleased to announce some of the first charities that are on board with us for the pre-launch of our Donater Platform.
Both charities are local to us as it’s important to us to work with those in our local community and show how our technology could bring a boost in donations for those that need it most in our local vicinity. Both these charities will bring hope to so many people.
One of these charities is Winchester Hospice, due to open it’s doors in 2020. They fundraising at the moment to renovate Burrell House into what will be Winchester Hospice.
This will be the home to the palliative care team who will provide compassionate and specialist care for up to 10 inpatients as well as support patients who are in hospital or still at home in the local community.
Situated within the grounds of the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Burrell House has an important legacy within the city of Winchester. Generous benefactor Augusta Burrell enabled an extension to the operating theatre from her donations in the early 1900’s.
The top floor of Burrell House has homed nurses as well as been used as accommodation for many healthcare over the years since the First World War, as well as being used as the Preliminary Training School.
This new season of fundraising will see the legacy of Augusta Burrell live on through the building’s new role as Winchester Hospice – A central location to provide specialist end of life care for residents in and around Winchester.
They need £3 million for the renovation works, and are 75% of the way there. We sincerely hope that our Donater Platform will help boost their donations and help them reach their target to transform this landmark into it’s former glory.
Another charity who will be one of the first to use our pre-launch Donater Plaform is Winchester Young Carers – Another very fine cause and an organisation who provide such needed support to some of the younger members of our community who give so much of their young lives to caring for a loved one.
Winchester Young Carers have a clear vision – They believe that young carers are children first, and thus should be able to take full advantage of opportunities for educational achievement and life success.
By providing safe, quality support to individuals they succeed in their mission to improve the lives of children and young people with caring responsibilities as well as offering a holistic approach to helping the whole family.
Young carers need the time and space to relax, have fun, and share their experiences with peers who are in a similar situation to themselves. Part of what Winchester Young Carers do is to provide programmes that empower individuals by giving them the skills and confidence to manage challenges that they may face or be facing.
The work that they do is vital to support the young carers of our city, and our hope is that by using the Donater Platform, they can add a new dimension to their fundraising and increase much-needed donations.
Our technology will soon be hitting the streets of Winchester in it’s first trial for these two charities, with more to follow. If you’re local to Winchester and see our Donater platform being used on the High Street, why not stop and see what it’s all about?
